What would give a bigger bonus -- being happy or sad
What would give a bigger bonus -- being happy or slightly frustrated at work. Serious question here,
now normally the easy answer would be that the happy person would get the bigger bonus because of all the positivity he/she brings. And specifically this is in regards to when the boss is asking you how you feel about work (especially after a move to another city). Now let's assume this person is still delivering good work. My logic would be that when a person complains about the work when asked how you feel about it from the boss (and is still delivering good work), I would be inclined to say the boss might give a bigger bonus because of the hardship that one has to endure, rather then being the happy go lucky type who's always happy. What are your thoughts ?
Yes, I know every boss is different and everyone has a different circumstance, and yes I know it also has to do with how much work you got done, how many deals got signed etc etc. but lets assume all things are equal, who would get paid more, a happy or a slightly frustrated individual ?
Your boss is definitely out to get you. If you show signs of happiness at the office they will definitely shaft you on the bonus. Probably a ~$10-15K blunder
Are you kidding? Giving someone a bigger bonus because they're moping around and bitching? I'm a relatively nice boss but if someone's complaining about their work enough, and to me, they're moving to the shit list unless they're an absolute fucking rockstar. And feel bad because they voluntarily moved to another city for a job? I feel bad for some guy who got drafted in 1966 into the Marines and ended up on Hilll 69 in Vietnam and got napalmed, not for some 22-30 year old who's making more than nearly all of their peers.
And most people who complain don't keep up good work based on what I've seen.
Be happy at work and frustrated when you actually get the number.
Jeez, this is like negotiating 101.
