What's everyone's thoughts on OpenAI's GPT announcement and the impact on Banking?
For those who missed the announcement last week, OpenAI has introduced new capabilities allowing users to easily create custom AI models. These can be shared in the upcoming GPT Store, paving the way for personalized AI tools accessible even without coding expertise.
.What are your thoughts on how this might impact banking? Many banks have blocked the use of ChatGPT, but can they ignore this emerging trend?
I have played around with the new feature from OpenAI and created a couple of new GPTs which can be used to help in the M&A process. Happy to share if anyone is interested.
I personally believe there are many use cases for this:
- Analyze and summarize key information, freeing up time for other tasks;
- Assist in training and education, especially for new analysts (e.g., understanding the M&A process, learning to conduct a DCF analysis); and
- Help understand key commercial clauses in an SPA by identifying risks or unusual terms.
These are just a few ways I think GPT can help, but I’m interested to hear others' thoughts on this topic."
Have you tried to use GPT for anything practical other then creating the shell for something? The currently available vanilla GPT is still a ways from being meaningfully useful. So far I’m seeing a lot of hype, without concrete results.
It is still impressive in its current iteration.
Does the creation of these custom models require technical knowledge?
