What's good about Credit Suisse?
Hey guys, does anyone know what Credit Suisse's strengths are in IB? Is there any good thing about the company? Please shed some lights. Thank you very much.

They are good in Industrials. To me they are always a bit more low key but always do pretty well in terms of deal flow / on the league tables.
sponsors
sponsors is right. CS is basically the 3rd best BB. don't think industrials is that good here though. sponsors however is ridiculously good, best on the street.
CS is so low key...you never see anything about them on major newslines. They are like the turtle that beats the rabbits in the race.
I don't know about third best BB... I'd say GS, MS, and JPM are in front, but CS definitely leads the rest of the pack behind those 3... Top groups there are probably Sponsors, M&A, TMT, and Energy... though retail was #1 in M&A this year (read it on dealbook) and apparently Healthcare's had some ridiculous placements...
I would not call CS anywhere near top 3. Everybody would agree those are GS, MS, JPM - consensus across the board.
^LOL third best BB. Obviously he works at CS.
Yeah I do and i'm in sponsors so f u all.
If you really are in Sponsors than damn right fuck them all. That is one of the most elite groups on the street.
^Well then good for him. I hope I dont meet assholes like him next year.
CS is full of assholes that are full of themselves. I know several people that work in IB over there and I would love smack them up.
I doubt that guy actually works at cs or in sponsors
That may, or may not, be true...but one thing's for sure, he isn't funny and, from what I've seen recently, contributes zero to WSO.
Regards
considerable doubt as to whether he works in sponsors at CS...
how is it over there at CS?
Heard great things about CS, very underrated. Sponsors is one of the top groups and the other groups have terrific reputations as well. I've also heard it's a lot more laid back than alot of the other wall street firms, guys are more casual etc
anyone know if they are still hiring?
I had final rounds with credit suisse (standard questions) and the people are very nice and it is VERY diverse -- people from across the world, england, africa, etc. so the culture varies tremendously. that being said, i think it is probably the 4th bulge bracket after GS MS and JPM, and they have some very very strong groups
Sorry CS finished hiring so don't bother. Classes are small and the target schools they go to are limited (alum networks and connections go a long way here).
and cpbravo i dont need to contribute shit, my life is set. bye.
i am from China and in Chinese we have this saying that goes like this: when the forest is big enough you can see all kinds of birds in it.
Lindamas I would be careful with the things you say. I know quite a few people at CS and considering your junior status, you wouldn't want to burn bridges so early in your career.
What are you talking about? His life is set. Why would he care about bridges burned?!? Ohh, yeah, for the same reason he trolls a forum and degrades everyone that doesn't appear to meet his unverified and possibly fabricated standards.
If your life is set, then go away. This forum is about helping people make educated life decisions and your drivel does nothing but taint WSO's image to those just passing through and it hinders the great advice often given here.
Regards
Haha this is just the thread to blowup in front of lindmas' face. What comes around goes around. She has been bragging of her CS offer all around (if it's true).
Sponsors is a small group isnt it? Cant we find out who it is? Its a girl too (shrudder). Ive never met a girl like that.
Ok heres a quick challenge for any troopers here. Identify and find out if LINDAMAS actuallys works for CS and then complain to CS about their bad apple 'employee'
This is still WSO, we don't have to act like 4chan here.
The purpose of this forum is not to go after people at their jobs. It's to offer advice on all fronts pertaining to finance / Wall Street. Leave it at that. If the lesson has been learned from realizing it could get worse, fair enough. No reason to get spiteful and go after someone too ignorant to know better.
Energy group is supposedly solid but their associates were about as dorky as I've seen (100% BB on hip)
Linda, do people in your office call you "token"? How often? Pls advise.
Ive worked with CS sponsors on a recent deal. They are legitimately and produce great work. But one call to the vp once we find out who he/she is and he/she's done. They are definitely not a cocky group and work hard. I'm sure thus behavior is not tolerated
