What's the most impressive thing you've seen/heard someone do to land a FT/internship offer?
I'm looking to land an offer as an IB intern at a regional boutique for this upcoming summer. I'm from a semi-target with a mediocre GPA (3.4); I'm trying to think outside the box as to how I could impress a hiring manager into at least agreeing to an interview. Thanks in advance

Offer to blow the MD
open up a futures account at AMP Futures (they offer extreme day trading margin) with about $3,000. Trade ES and CL futures aggressively and turn that 3k into 3 million (if you are a rockstar, this is doable.....but the odds of you being a rockstar are slim). That will surely get you an interview.
If it is "doable" for someone, than that someone clearly doesn't need a job, not yet an internship.
Network relentlessly. That will get you noticed.
