When are IB Start Dates for FT?
My study abroad program next spring ends in the end of July, so I wanted to hear when the IB start dates usually are, or if they could potentially be pushed back to August on a case by case basis?
I rly want to participate in this study abroad thing, but if it comes off as a bad look, then I'll give it up.
Be prepared to leave your study abroad programme early then.
Ofc willing to do this, but do u think it’s a bad look to postpone start date by a few wks given my situation? Or better to just go as planned and leave my thing early (finals would be an issue tho)
You would miss all of training which is no bueno.
Late June, early July typically. Latest I’ve heard amongst the BBs and EBs is July 13th this year (could be wrong).
Damn, good to know. Best case scenario I’d only be missing 2 wks, but idk how finals would work
Do u happen to know which BBs and EBs? (Wanna see if my bank is included in those late starts)
Really confused. You’re a current junior, doing SA internship this summer, graduating next summer, then doing a study abroad after graduating, then starting FT? Timeline makes no sense. But regardless, usually FT starts in early July
No, I’m graduating next spring. But the study abroad program has a different calendar style so it ends later than how it does in the US
Get the return first brotato chip 🥀
You right lmao
I'm starting FT at a BB this cycle on July 1st just to give you a datapoint.
Good to know thank you. May I ask which bank specifically if that's all right?
Germany?
Japan
Is it possible to get return offer and start in January at a BB (I have a Dec 26 grad date)
I think most if not all banks won't let you do this because they're going to want you to go through their formal training process for New Grads. Unless it's an ad hoc process for a one-off analyst in a group, then maybe, but for something like returning from SA or FT recruitment into their new grad pool – then most likely no.
If anyone was successful in this I'd be happy to hear because I was in the same predicament and wanted to start Jan because of a Dec grad date, and my bank never allows that.
