When do lateral opportunities tend to open?

Currently an A1, I'm looking to lateral to a bigger bank. I've been through some processes in the past but didn't receive an offer. Over the past month, I've been networking with various banks, and most of them have mentioned they're currently busy but will be looking for lateral analysts in the coming months. I understand this is typically on an as-needed basis, but would you say that the majority of opportunities tend to open up during the summer? (Analysts leaving for PE, bonus season, etc.)
