When does salary all feel the same?

My wife and I make about 120k per year after taxes. I start my MBA this fall, and upon graduation I will be the only one working with my wife staying at home. I’ve begun doing introductory phone calls with IB guys, commercial bankers, and financial due diligence. I’ve gather post MBA that commercial banking starts at around 140 all in. IB starts at about 250 all in. Not great stats on deal advisory out there. Obviously IB the ramp up is much higher, but.....

Can you tell the difference between 200k per year and 300? 450 and 600?

I know it seems like a dumb question, but college was the first time I met with people with parents clearing 200k a year. Just curious if you can actually feel a change in lifestyle once you get past a certain point.
