About to get paid for first full year of work. Expecting $50k (~30k post tax). Just wanted to ask around to see what people did with their bonus after their first year, and if it worked out as expected or if you learned something and wish you had done something different. I know this has been talked about several times on here, but the last 10 years of bonuses have all been paid during a record bull market.
I'm not asking for your personal opinion about where you think the market is heading this year, just want to get ideas about high yield savings accounts, stable stock indexes/ETFs, and possibly navigating the fixed income market for the first time.

Idk man, get a diversified portfolio. 30k isnt anything to get creative with, some ETFs and a high yield savings account seems good enough.
Do you have a personal high yield savings account? Who do you use? Ally, AMEX, or something else? Do you like who you use.
I would generally put it into a 80/20 stock bond split. Or heck even an all stock if you really wanted.
Of the stock I would put most of it into ETFs and maybe throw 15-20% into some large cap stocks that you like and maybe 0-5% into some small cap stocks that you think could be ten baggers for the fun of it.
i would look into PIMPCO funds
At that point you might wanna hit up Citadel!

There are tons of small/micro cap companies that are on sale right now. Go on morningstar and look up some micro cap mutual funds - not to invest in them, but to go through their holdings and try to find some gems.
