Last year and for the first half of this year GS is at the top if you're thinking purely on size in Asia Pacific (ex. Japan), this according to Thomson Reuters which measures performance by fees. Interestingly UBS also seems to be a consistent top 5 in Asia. In Japan it's a three horse race between Nomura, Mizuho, and Sumitomo.
