Which banks to apply for 2023

Hi,

I have studied for one year, currently doing an internship in IB. I am currently applying for internships 2023 with intention to pick that bank for FT 2024 when I graduate. I am simply wondering - with the incoming recession - on how american BB satellite offices usually make their way through a crisis?

Would I be safer at a Nordic BB or at an american BB? Which one has the highest chance to have a steady (in relative terms) deal flow throughout?

Appreciate any input. :)

Cheers

What do you mean? I am in the recruitment process (first round or further in) for multiple Nordic BB's and multiple American BB's (satellite offices), I am just having a hard time to decide on what I should chose.

Hm I think we're starting to make sense now haha.

Stockholm is the Nordic-region HQ's for the American BB's, they do a lot of deals and are at the very top of the league tables in the nordics (Top 5 basically).

So basically, the American BB's do a lot of deals in the nordics and are at the top of the league tables in M&A which is nice. On the other hand, the nordic BB's have their commercial banking services in the nordics as well which might make them more stable during a recession?

And just to be clear, this is for Stockholm, Sweden and it's exclusively about investment banking. No BO, MO or anything else. Simply IB at the analyst level
