Which groups should I target for full-time as a Corporate Banking intern ?
I’m currently at a MM corporate bank with a solid reputation but I’m looking to move into a full-time role in IB. Because of my background, I’m thinking regional cities will be my best bet but would appreciate some insight into less competitive roles and firms. I am trying to be efficient/realistic and target less competitive roles with good/decent brand name and exit ops.
Which groups and firms would be most feasible from my Corporate Banking internship(FSG, LevFin, DCM/ECM Advisory)?
ok, so you work at wells basically on either their CIB or CB team(s).
well what is your focus for corp banking? can't just go from something like TMT Corp Banking to lev fin IB for no reason. also, going from CB to IB laterals can happen quite frequently and easily rather than IB from a no name shop to IB at a BB/EB.
Can easily get a CIB role on a LevFin execution team and then lateral into LevFin/DCM/Syndications.
WF has Leveraged Underwriting which is their execution portion I believe. Do the analyst program and then exit to LevFin/LDCM after.
It’s a generalist role, for interns theres not necessarily an industry focus. Day-to-day we do a lot of credit underwriting and syndicated loans
