Which MM/EBB recruit at UMich?
Current sophomore interested in investment banking. What are some of the current companies that recruit heavily at University of Michigan and approximately how many students are recruited per school?

most banks you think of have a recruiting presence at ross.
Basically every bank, EB/BB/MM, whatever acronym you can think of, recruits there.
Best public target in the US, absolutely crushes UVA/UNC/UT/UCB when it comes to buyside+top BB+EB in NYC and Chicago
Ross is better than McIntire? doubt that
it is, too many UVA weirdos on this site that spread misinfo
I go to one of the other schools you mentioned and I have to agree. Ross seems to be on a higher tier. I'm not sure if it's just because of the sheer number of students interested in IB, but they have huge alumni numbers all across the street.
Most insecure student body by far, with this comment being a shining example.
Ross absolutely crushes it I’ve heard - helps even more if you’re in a top frat (think phi psi, theta chi....less so aepi)
live ever, die never
Being in a frat definitely helps for certain banks (HL, Jefferies). Good amount of aepi kids at jefferies too
Yeah this was true for certain banks (I’m assuming still true), especially Jefferies. I’d say the kids in finance clubs and the top business frats crushed it more though.
I noticed that people were commenting about best public targets. I think there is a larger number of students at UMich compared to other state targets. As a result, recruiters come to the schools with larger pool of applicants.
Correct. The same theme plays out at the MBA level where banks trek up to Ithaca to recruit Johnson students, regardless of the school's ranking. Larger pool of applicants relative to other "higher ranked" programs.
I will add that most banks do have a recruiting presence, but OCR last year was exclusively middle market banks + centerview
Every bank recruits at UM, based off of this past year's numbers and trends:
MS numbers slightly trending upwards
GS numbers holding fairly steady
JPM numbers trending down
Evercore trending slightly upwards. UM has strong presence there already
Can't speak on PJT but they took very few students
Can confirm that Jefferies and HL are frat heavy
Thanks for the trends...tells us just about nothing. Any idea what the actual #'s are for each of the aforementioned banks?
Not a single bank at all. Sorry OP. None. Nada. Zip. Nill. Sad!
Pretty sure Gugg takes a lot of UMich students. Can confirm Gugg took like 7-8 UMich out of its 60ish 2020 SAs (M&A and RX)
