Hello,
I am wondering how good a computer I should buy for a first year analyst. 8 or 16gb of ram i5, i7 or even i9 processor and such.
Which computers do you guys use?

You will be using your work computer exclusively. I'm not aware of any banks that don't provide analysts laptops unless you're at an extremely tiny place, and even then I'd be surprised.
My bank actually provided me with a laptop for work, surprised you weren't issued one. However, even if you weren't you shouldn't need anything too crazy. A multi-core i5 or a baseline i7 would be great, definitely will not need an i9. 8GB of ram would be more than enough, and a 500GB hard drive should be all you need if it's just for work.
If you're working from home you may want to look into getting a docking station as well, but that might be something your bank will be willing to give you for free.
