Who are the best RX Bankers in the world?
I would guess Eric Siegert from HL is one of them: some of his notable transactions include Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., General Motors, Enron, Conseco, Visteon Corp., American Airlines, Mirant Corp., Residential Capital, LLC, Peabody Energy Corp., NRG, and Washington Mutual Bank
PJT for sure must have a couple of guys worth mentioning
Who are the best RX bankers for you guys?
Michael Kramer, Jim Millstein
Any notable transactions or achievements?
Jim Millstein: the United States’ first and only CRO
Henry Miller and Kenneth Buckfire both come to mind. They went on to form their own shop (spun out from Dresdender Kleinwort and now a part of Stifel) focused on RX. Buckfire, in particular, is up there because of his work with the bankruptcy on behalf of the City of Detroit. The other name I'd throw out is Felix Rohatyn. This one gets lost in the annals for a lot of younger bankers because it's a throwback to New York City in the 70s. New York City, at the time, nearly declared bankruptcy (and gave the Daily News one of its most famous headlines: "Ford to City: Drop Dead"). Rohatyn was brought in to advise the city on how to avert bankruptcy. Both Governor Hugh Carey (for whom the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel was renamed after) and the NY State legislature supported Rohatyn's plans. While Rohatyn's plan wasn't enough, as the US Government stepped in to loan NYC funds, it was enough to help start spurring a turnaround for the city's financial health, and earn him accolades as the architect of NYC's turnaround.
Bump
Josh Abramson (PJT) has got to be one of the top young guys.
