Who fires HR?
Just something I've been pondering... Who fires HR? Do they have performance reviews as well? Who's their HR? Who's their HR'S HR? osv

You know HR doesn’t fire you, your manager does right? Same thing for HR. I constantly read on this forum where juniors blame HR for layoffs or not getting promoted or crappy raises; you realize you need to be mad at your manager/MD right? If they are blaming HR it’s just because they don’t want to deal with you.
There are times when overall budgets have to be down, but again, HR doesn’t make that decision and it should be communicated to you clearly.
I wasn't railing against HR nor am I angry at HR brah, I was just wondering how it works for them.
And I was pointing out that by asking how it works for them you are implying a misunderstanding of how it works generally. It works for them the same way it works for you, your manager/MD fires you.
What about when market is blooming, there is clearly not enough workers and yet HR is reluctant to approve headcount, implement useless interview screening / process, being inefficient and slow on background check and onboarding such that by the time the hiring is actually completed, it has already passed the peak of the bloom; and right when market starts to slow from the aforementioned peak, HR is reluctant / slow to review and forecast actual business needs, tried to be the good guy by retaining excessive non-performing workers for longer than they should have, which eventually leads to a point where the workforce is so bloated that even people with good performance have to be laid off? And to continue the exact same cycle time and time again? And also create millions if not billions of additional hiring / separating costs? Who is holding HR accountable?
HR is an absoulte useless business function and the ones who act like they are above everyone else are parasites
Headcount and interview process is not an HR thing. They are just following orders and acting as fall guy for others. Do you really think they are the ones forecasting business needs and determining separation costs??
Again, this isn’t HR, this is the leadership at your firm (including CEO, CFO and MDs). HR supports the business and helps provide info that can be used make decisions but isn’t the decision maker. They are extremely helpful with things like legal considerations, consolidating info and people analytics across the firm, aggregating comp info, etc
As an example, when firing people I work with HR. They help me make sure that we’ve given the right amount of opportunities, that we’ve considered risks, etc
Similar when I’m working on expanding my team, looking across the firm at time to hire, getting advice on recruiting strategies, retention stats, etc.
Every group head thinks they know best, but very few are considering the holistic of the firm. HR helps with that. But ultimately, the group heads along with finance and CEO make these decisions. If the time to hire is too slow, don’t blame HR, that’s your leadership team (ultimately CEO), not HR.
LMAO you have absolutely no clue what HR does, they're just the face of all your frustrations so you take it out on them. You do realize HR rarely if ever is the one making headcount decisions, right? You know HR doesn't do background checks, they use a 3rd party, right? You know HR doesn't make hiring decisions, right? The hiring manager does.
You look so embarrassing screeching and whining about something you apparently don't even understand
Yep. When I worked at a startup HR / People reported into our CFO and he was the one who fired our Head of People.
HR
HR's HR. little known fact, but there's an infinite chain
Imagine there's no HR
It's easy if you try
