WHU vs FSFM vs EDHEC vs SKEMA as a Native French Speaker with a focus on Switzerland

Hello everyone,

I have been living and working in Switzerland for the past two years. I've met a girl there whom I like very much and I'm considering the option of settling here for the long term.  However, I want to change career and I'm looking to do a Master Degree in order to start IB. I already took the exams in France last year and missed out on EMLyon in France by one place and EDHEC in France as well by 10 places. I'm determined to get them this year.

EDHEC is my first choice without any hesitation, but I'm wondering whether it would be worthwhile for me to apply to some schools in Germany too, as it would be easier to end up in Zurich (I don't speak German at the moment, but I want to learn). I have 645 at GMAT Focus and 8 at IELTS.

So my questions:

  • What's the corporate finance scene like in Switzerland? I'm pretty sure I'll have to spend years in Paris before I can look for something on the sell side in Geneva or Zurich, right?
  • Is WHU or FSFM more strategic for me than EMLyon or Skema? What about Audencia? (I know I'll have to forget the BBs and so on).

Thank you in advance for your valuable feedback,

Mazewind

Sellside is almost inexistent in Geneva, so if you want to do IB, you should focus on Zurich. School wise, to work in Switzerland the best schools will be HSG / University of Zurich for Zurich and HEC Lausanne to work in Geneva. I'm not sure how well French schools place in Geneva (as people from Geneva don't always like the Frenchies)
