I have noticed a lot of people in IB tell their staffers/team that they have a PE offer at xyz firm when they receive it. Why is this the norm? Do PE firms require they background check with your current company, is it in the employment contract, etc? I just feel like most industries you just give your 2-3 week notice and salud.
