Why I Didn't Answer Your E-mail
Because you:
- Didn't have a signature. Are you kidding?
- Never introduced yourself
- Never told me how you even got my contact information (side note: finding me on LinkedIn, then figuring out my bank's e-mail format and e-mailing me is clever, but fucking weird, just message me on LinkedIn like a normal person)
- Obviously copy/pasted "bank name" (Outlook lets us see when you paste stuff in because the format gets messed up. Just type a new message, how hard is it to be genuine?)
- Had grammar, spelling, formatting mistakes
- Didn't attach a resume (no point jumping on the phone with you if you're not qualified)
- E-mailed me from your personal g-mail (you have a .edu e-mail for a reason)
I didn't answer because I'm an asshole, I didn't because you have no attention to detail.
To be fair, most people Ive talked to (IB/PE analysts primarily) stated that they would much prefer an email as opposed to a linkedin message. Not to justify anything just saying

I've heard from many other people not to attach a resume in the first email, as it comes off way too aggressive. Why not shoot them an email back and say like "send over your resume" and after that you can respond or not
I typically never do, just have 2 lines in my intro paragraph talking about where im currently working/worked most recently so they know im at least familiar with the work within the industry

OP, your post comes across as elitist as others have pointed out. Good for you if you've been successful, but someone gave you your first chance. So please show some humility and some small sliver of a conscious :D.
Honestly- why does it matter if the email comes from gmail or school? How is that a factor at all? Totally irrelevant.
I agree - I also tell students to not email from .edu address because when they graduate, some schools don't keep their email addresses active and then students loose some of their network.

Generally you can tell if something is copy pasted vs the signature - gmail formatting looks weird in outlook. For instance, I get emails a lot where the signature and body font size and font type are different. Or there is excess spacing, likely indicating a copy / paste. These are generally not emails I reply to
Will people not respond to emails if u send using plain text, I've been doing that all summer and just realized that it looks fucked up on the phone but normal on the computer
