they do have a poor/slavish culture but great dealflow/exit ops...same goes for BAML, Moelis etc.

GS, Barclays, Evercore etc are known for better cultures. Many MM also have amazing cultures.

Here's the lowdown on Citi NYC culture:

Industrials is a frathouse. Same for DCM. Tech doesn't do anything, and hence are chill. Hear C&R and RE are chill too. M&A, Power, and LevFin get worked, but good camaraderie. Don't know a lot about M&T/FIG/HC. LatAm is a disaster, hope you like fear and sunrises. CapMarkets generally good culture – some really fratty desks. Hours can be as slavish as IB though, even in DCM/ECM - you just start at 6-7am vs 9-10am.CB is so integrated with IB that it's basically the same thing.

Generally better culture than peers on the street
