Why many people said that Citigroup has one of the worst IBD culture?
What does it mean by bad culture? Isn't all bulges have long hours? Could anyone explain and share some examples on what bad cultures mean?

depends on the group. this applies to every bank.
they do have a poor/slavish culture but great dealflow/exit ops...same goes for BAML, Moelis etc.
GS, Barclays, Evercore etc are known for better cultures. Many MM also have amazing cultures.
Can vouch for great culture at EVR/BarCap. Unsure about GS – heard bad things about TMT/FIG/LatAm

Here's the lowdown on Citi NYC culture:
Industrials is a frathouse. Same for DCM. Tech doesn't do anything, and hence are chill. Hear C&R and RE are chill too. M&A, Power, and LevFin get worked, but good camaraderie. Don't know a lot about M&T/FIG/HC. LatAm is a disaster, hope you like fear and sunrises. CapMarkets generally good culture – some really fratty desks. Hours can be as slavish as IB though, even in DCM/ECM - you just start at 6-7am vs 9-10am.CB is so integrated with IB that it's basically the same thing.

Any info on FIG at Citi? How is that supposed to be in terms of culture?
