Will analysts take a wash come summer cycle given macro environment and slower M&A than '21?

As a AN2 at a BB (GS), quite concerned on whether we are in for an awakening vs. last yr. Also, there has been a meaningful amount of lateral hires at the junior level to add to the mix. Any thoughts?
