William Blair Chicago Best Groups (2021)?

I know there is a similar thread to this, but I was wondering if someone could share a more current breakdown on the different groups at William Blair Chicago? From what I have gathered tech and HC are the biggest/best, but I don't know if that information is correct, dated, or just inaccurate.

Thanks

Jesus, you kids.

There’s no “best groups” or “best banks”You need to redefine this question—largest groups? Group that gives you the most exposure? Group that leads to the most optionality? Group that works on the biggest deals? Group that has the best culture? Group that will give you the largest network? The consumer group is better if you want to look at consumer businesses. The tech group is better than the consumer group if you want to look at tech businesses. Also, it’s been covered on this forum, Blair doesn’t staff by location, there is no “Blair Chicago” it’s just Blair tech or Blair healthcare and those teams work together across the country. Lastly, you can look on most bank’s websites and see the deals each group works on and the frequency of transactions—draw your own conclusions.

I’m not trying to be mean or unhelpful, I’m trying to let you know that this forum will give you bad advice and you need to start making decisions for yourself. No one can decide for you which group will be best for your career interests. The tech group is the largest, followed by healthcare at Blair. However, if you want to look at consumer businesses, express that preference. Your group won’t dictate your whole life. Also, you can always switch groups/ the industry you look at during buyside recruiting, you just need to have a reason why. That said, many people don’t even do buyside recruiting from Blair!
