William Blair London office

Hi all,

Just wanted to have an insight into William Blair's London office?

From what I've heard, they recently opened a second floor in their London office in the City. Deal flow (200m-1bn) is very good, resulting in very decent PE exits from their recent analysts and associates.

Competitors are the more upper MM firms Baird/Jefferies/Rothschild/Houlihan Lokey

Any other input?

From what I've heard it's a very decent upper MM bank in the City. They work on 200m-1bn deals and deal flow is very solid.

Competitors are Jefferies/Houlihan Lokey/Baird/Rothschild

I have a few friends who interviewed there and they told me they are very selective when hiring interns/analysts (none of them got an offer) + the interview process consists of 4 rounds

Sorry but how can you compare William Blair London with Rothschild.... Roth is an absolute legend in Europe and has a huge dealflow in MM, while William Blair / Baird are just non-existent.

Houlihan is good but focuses on different segments of the market i.e; restructuring / distressed / capital advisory

Anyways, to answer OP's question: if you want to do IBD down the line, take the IBD internship. However, keep in mind that doing a PE internship before starting though is a VERY good idea given it will significantly strenghten your profile for headhunters / PE recruitment in a few years.
