William Blair SF or Allen and Co.?
Hi guys,
Am in a bit of a pickle. Got an offer at WB SF in their tech sector and also at Allen and Co for summer 2023. Have until Wednesday to decide. What do I do?
I love media and entertainment (why I chose Allen) but WB's culture + location is amazing and I don't want to be in NYC.
How do I decide?

Wouldn’t say “Allen for sure.”
Depends on how strongly you feel about each of these different factors. Is it more important to work in the sector that you are interested in, or live in a city you enjoy with a culture that you like. WB tech is very strong, been on a tear recently.

Just go Allen for bit and dip, basically every deal they do is massive. Follow what sector you enjoy. Can't really say they have great culture if you've never worked there.
I just don't know if I believe them that I'll get a return offer, so I'm a bit skeptical.
If you really like media and entertainment then you should go with Allen. You can always lateral to some other bank in SF afterwards if you’re really set on living there at some point.
People have said before not to summer at Allen - it seems historically they've viewed the summer program as summer help rather than a pipeline into the fulltime gig. I'd check around to see if that's still the case.
They've mentioned that they want to transition to a more traditional SA->FT analyst pipeline, but I don't know.
