Wipfli Investment Banking Perspectives

Hello,

Could we share our thoughts about Wipfli Investment Banking practice? I am curious about their culture and comp progression at the analyst level in the Midwest. Obviously, I did not know they have a banking practice and was wondering what kind of experiences one could get at the analyst level compared to other sell-side investment banks in the similar market reputation (if they have any).

Thank you!

Do not know them personally / know any bankers, but by a glance of their website / transaction listing, it looks like any other LMM regional boutique. Can't speak on culture, but for exit opps in the midwest, it'll be hard to beat out people from midwest MM shops like Lincoln, WB, Baird, HL, Piper, Laz MM, HW, etc. There's still a large quantity of junior bankers in the midwest that all want to leave for a PE shop in the midwest, but a much more limited number of seats. If you don't get any IB offers from a MM, I would pursue it in lieu of valuation, transaction advisory, audit, etc., but don't expect to have the same brand name as the banks listed above. It'll definitely be even more of a grind to land a PE exit
