Would you enter Banking now?

Long story short - I work in AM and recently received an offer to lateral into banking. I really thought this was something I wanted after not feeling fulfilled at my current role. I only work ~55/60hrs a week, am respected by my seniors, and get decent interaction with clients. However, after receiving the offer I feel extremely conflicted - my job is comfortable, and reading all the posts/news stories about how brutal life is for banking juniors, I'm starting to second guess everything.

I'm aware that people would kill for a banking offer and need to appreciate the opportunity, but still concerned to enter banking.

Question for you all - assuming the majority of you entered IB pre-Covid, would you enter now after enduring remote work?

Depends what you want long-term. If PE is the goal, then IB is the safest and quickest path to it. If you want to do literally anything else, I would not rely to heavily on IB. Being a task monkey with brutal hours (especially now during WFH) is not worth it even with IB money (which is good, but not pre-2008 good). Think of where you want to be in 5, 10 and 20 years first. That'll help you understand how to best get there and then pick the most appropriate career path.
