I'll have a crack as no other responses.

At a high level, I'd lump them in with the other foreign banks with a project finance/infra/mining focus (BNP/soc gen/HSBC/Mizuho - though some of those less m&m).

Suspect Sydney office is a satellite office that mostly serves to:

- Service their international (Canadian) clients who have interests in Australia (probably mostly mining)

- Originate/participate in project finance debt syndicates.

As for are they a good team. Depends on your interests and candidacy. Wouldn't go there over BB IB (incl Mac) or some boutiques (Azure, GHL, ICA) infra/M&M teams, but would consider over say big 4 bank LevFin or big 4 advisory. Would be interesting to see if hours are chill there.

Don't have much insight so would defer to anyone who's dealt with them / have mates there.
