You LMM "bankers" sure are loud...
What's the deal with you people? I keep seeing stupid rankings on here, usually by an idiot prospect, or (L)MM "bankers" putting their weirdo banks up top. I mean, be for real, you didn't get into a BB/EB and are upset about it. There's even some of you who claim that working at an (L)MM is better than working at a BB because of "leaner teams" and whatnot. Why? You don't even win any deals, let alone close them!
BB banks have a whole range of products we can sell, really being true bankers. We work on the biggest deals, with household names, the biggest corporates; the most exciting deals. Anyone who claims to prefer MM deals and MM banking is a liar who didn't get into a BB. Sorry (not really), but if you just helped close a $4MM merger between Joe's Chicken Shoppe & Apothecary and Susan's Hostel&Brothel (H&B) in bumfuck Ohio, you're not a banker, you're just an accountant.
That's why I don't think that this industry is "oversaturated" with bankers, just full of people who think that they are bankers who call themselves bankers, but actually aren't.

Nah dude MM IB is paradise. I did MM because I love the thrill of ripping out 250mm sellsides to private equity firms. Nothing beats the feeling of working till 2AM every day for months as you try to sell a local ice cream shop chain to a $7bn direct equity investor. I get “outsized responsibility” like either 1) building the targets first financial model (ever) from scratch or 2) making minimal changes to the model provided by their sponsor, and also keeping diligent track of all buyer communications. My above street bonus more than makes up for my below street exits opps.
