A)Probability of you getting fired after you tell them upfront

B) Probability of them finding out*probability of you getting fired after not telling them (probably close to 100%)

Do which will yield the lowest percentage.

A month before your internship... Your only job was the make sure your GPA doesn't tank and steer clear of trouble. How did you mess that up

I doubt there are very many people with this exact experience. I can answer you that it will 100% not destroy your career. But I would encourage you to tell us whatever happens so that the next 1 off kid has something to reference.

Bingo, because most people (at least those going into banking) aren't so fucking stupid as to get caught by police with weed under any circumstances, nevermind right before they are supposed to start a summer internship.

Take it easy champ. The kid is in college. Some people like to actually you know have some fun in college. He smoked a little pot, its not like he was smoking meth. He wasn't caught with weed if you read the post.

I think you might be in the clear if the background check has already been completed before you are found guilty of the charge. It isn't typical for a company that has no probable cause to complete a follow up background check once someone has already completed one and come back clean, especially an intern. If the charge is pending then it shouldn't show up at all until a verdict is handed down. I wouldn't bring it up because it probably will get you in some hot water and if for whatever reason they do find out about it and you get canned then that would have likely been the result if you told them in the first place so better off for you to roll the dice and keep your mouth shut.
