24 yo - I haven't screwed up my life yet, right?
Hi WSO, Note: this is a modified post; I don't think I've screwed up my life yet, but I'm just reflecting on my experience so far and looking to see what career path might be a good fit for me.
Brief background: 24-yrs old, one year out of undergrad in accounting, big four audit job, studying for CFA.
Things I've learned about myself over the past year: - I enjoy Excel - I'm not often challenged by having to analyze or understand how something actually works, but I like that challenge when it happens - I like accounting theory; I don't like audit documentation - I have a very good tolerance for long hours and little sleep; partly due to being on a good engagement with fun people, partly due to my personality - I enjoy having to research something and gain an understanding; I like to have the "leisure" to work on such assignments - I've felt the desperation of working late at night on a project due the next morning; it sure is miserable - Moderate levels of stress motivate me - I'd rather work long hours for a few days and then have the rest of the week to chill, than spread the workload over six or seven days and not be able to enjoy actual free time
So, I think these are probably pretty standard experiences, but given what I've learned so far, what are some careers that might be a good fit?

Try ER? I've heard that you'll actually get some weekends off. Although idk about hiring prospects for someone already outta college.
You could try Consulting or sales which most probably have lots of flexibility
