Accept Job Offer or Keep Looking?

I'm a recent graduate with a degree in finance from a non-target. 3.5 GPA and internship experience at a fintech startup. I hope to end up in asset management and eventually, VC. I've been actively applying for jobs over the last few months and have struggled to get much traction. The handful of interviews I've had did not turn into offers.

I just received an offer from a tech startup in a nearby city for a sales role. Neither the company nor the role have anything to do with finance (which is what I've always pictured myself doing).

I'd love to work for a startup at some point because I have an entrepreneurial mindset and believe it'll give me some semi-relevant experience for VC but I'm worried that 1) sales experience won't add anything to my resume 2) irrelevant experience will just push me further away from finance.

The sales position offers a low salary (as expected for entry-level sales) in an expensive city so I'll likely have to commute 2 hours a day to keep my cost of living low.

Should I take my only offer and hope for mobility to another role in the company or should I reject the offer and keep searching for a position in finance? Will start up experience, even if it's entry-level sales, provide any value to me in the long run? From the job postings I've seen so far, most finance positions require finance experience so I worry that transitioning to finance after working in the sales role would be just as difficult as it is without sales experience.

Would suggest you take the job first and then start looking for something else, learn what you can from this small firm. There is always something you can learn.
