Acceptable to work for a small bank for like 2-4 months and bail to something better?
Title says it all – I've been unemployed for a few months and have been offered a role at a smaller bank (less than 50 headcount)
Is it okay to hop in for a few months, collect a paycheck and a bonus, and then hop to something else? I'm in a few buyside processes (did IB for 4 years prior to this at a top BB) which may or may not pan out but figure this may be worth it for the quick buck while I close out my other recruiting timelines
I'm sure I can come up with an excuse when I leave and I know they won't be happy but I'll still put in work for those paychecks so why not. Curious what others think
Probably makes more sense to wait out the buyside processes if they are promising.
Completely get where you are coming from, but you put the bank in a shitty situation. I assume they were expecting a new hire to stay for awhile and not have to go through the hiring process again in a few months.
