Accepted a Middle Office Role for 6 Months, How Will This Affect Exit Opportunities?

I recently accepted a job as a trading assistant in the middle office. It wasn't my first choice but I needed a job ASAP to pay the bills. I'm looking to go into consulting afterwards and I've been doing a lot of networking. Out of dumb luck, I actually got a consulting interview the day of my acceptance and I didn't want to risk not taking my current offer as a trading assistant (the interview process would've taken 3 weeks they said). Will taking this job make it more difficult for me to get into consulting? What is everyone's thoughts?
