Advanced Recruiting: Should I do this?
Hello. I’m about to start a B4 Transaction Services job in September. I graduated college in May.
Some leftover IB applications are still in the process and have reached out for analyst programs. I believe most would start in August/September (immediate starts as well).
I don’t want to renege with B4, so I can’t start a new IB role in September.
Should I notify IB HR that I’m only able to start in January?
Then, continue with the B4 job and just quit in December?!
Thanks in advance! Curious if anyone has been in a similar situation as me.
It will look really bad if you quit the B4 job in under 6 months. But you should have an easy time lateralling after the 4 month mark. Wait til then, then shoot out as many applications as you want.
Totally! By look bad, do you mean from the IB’s perspective or the B4? Because, they wouldn’t see the B4 job on the resumes I sent them. They’d have no idea I worked at B4 anyways, as they believe I’m a fresh college graduate who hasn’t received their first job.
Banks are still looking to fill spots for the class of 2021 first year analysts?
