Advice on work experience.

I was wondering how much would it hurt/ matter to have finance related work experience to get an entry level position say internship at banks or financial institutions.

Well, use the search function, plenty of stuff about the same question on here. Please note that I'm just a college kid, but it seems to me like it would not hurt but pretty much be a prerequisite.
