Advice - What Should I Do?
Thanks in advance to everyone who takes their own time to read this and provide their opinions - I really appreciate it.
My situation is that I am a c/o 2019 grad who was pre-med but made a late switch to finance. Since, I've been in Strategic Finance @ 1) pre-revenue HC services company and 2) current, later stage healthcare company (IPO 2 or so years away for context). I've wanted to make the move to banking for awhile and thought that after I hit ~1 year with my current firm I would be able to make the move.
I'm looking for advice because late last night I saw an opening at a MM firm that I've been interested in for the longest time. I'm worried to apply given a few things:
1) Only 9 months exp at my current firm
2) Super rusty on technical questions / resume is not up to date
3) My team is incredibly lean (only 2 + CFO) and I'm afraid to put them in a bind - not that I'm a necessity but at this point the more hands we have the better.
My question to all of you is:
What would you do?
I do not have an interview with this MM firm or anything but I have a decent amount of alum at the firm that could prove to be essential.

1) It is what it is, you can't do anything about that. Let prospective employers decide if 9 months is enough
2) Why are you worried about this? It is on you to fix. You want to get hired or not lol? Update your resume and get up to speed on technicals
3) The best you can do is give them sufficient notice and be very hands on with transitioning work over to your replacement.

Why are you so interested in banking? Are you really? Because you mention you’re super rusty on technicals which doesn’t seem to jive with really wanting to be in banking.
Give you’re at a place with an IPO on the horizon, wouldn’t you wanna see if you could hit a stock homerun?
Comp, future optionality, as well as the work product. Have heard good things about this MMs culture as well (that does not imply the hours wont be what banking hours are). On that point, especially recently, I've been clocking in comparable hours but without the comp upside. Me being rusty on techs is simply just a function of having been busy and no necessity to interview until potentially this point.
No equity currently but may be apart of a comp package following promotion.
