Alternatives if I don’t like IB or should I just power through in this market?

Intern at a solid bank, like the people, pretty strong feedback & on track to return. But after consecutive 2ams I’m doubting if I can do this for 2 years just for “exits.” Especially as I’m in a team known for better culture (but not hours) and feel like this. In college I had 2-3 jobs at once to pay tuition so thought I could do intensity, but guess it’s the expectations, not finding the work interesting, the constant on-call.

I tried for consulting but struck out on MBB even with referrals, as I’m non-target for consulting and hiring there is a bloodbath now. There are a few T2 firms open but unlikely to pull offers where I have 0 alum.

Get how privileged I am to have this position and feel guilty for being unhappy. But was curious if given the market, if I should take the return for money/exits, grow up and learn to cope for two years as “everyone feels this way?” Or if there’s something else feasible to recruit into for better WLB and lower but decent pay/opportunity, and if so what?
