Alumni vs Non-Alumni Networking

I'm a rising sophomore at a semi-target, so there are alumni I can reach out to but not a lot. After I finish reaching out to alumni, should I also start networking with non-alums or is there really no point in that. Do non-alums even pull for you or only for people from their own school? Would it be worth the time?

I'm from a non-target and I'm a strong advocate of non-alum networking. They're literally the same as alum, just need a slightly better case to push you through as an alum would

I don't disagree with the underlying statement, but this is like a homeless person saying they prefer living on the street. As a non-target, you don't have a damn choice homie

You make a great point - where I recruited there was definitely no alumni, but in other situations my non-target (like many others) has significant alum populations at certain banks.

The reason I say I'm an "advocate for non-alum networking" is because other people at my school have the habit of networking solely with the modest alum population, and once they've run through them all, networking simply "stops" for them.

YAAASSSSS. If you come across well in your email and have a nice resume, I will give youa chance and talk to you. Even got a guy an offer for 2021 SA who wasn't from my Ivy.

Will update my computer soon and leave Incognito so I will disappear forever. How did I achieve Neanderthal by trolling? Some people are after me so need to close account for safety.
