Am I boned?

Went to my first Superday yesterday. I think I had solid rapport with everyone and answered most of the technicals well (got nervous on the first one and had to re-calibrate, but would not think this would be a deal breaker).

I emailed the hiring director/manager today to thank her for coordinating the day, and her response (summarized) was: “Thanks for coming in, we all enjoyed meeting you. We have to finish up some  other interviews but will be in touch”.

Am I overthinking it, or is this a bad sign? My gut tells me that they have essentially placed me in a holding tank and are waiting to see if they prefer someone else over the next week or so. I am not expecting an offer based on this.

Thoughts?

You’re overthinking it.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

You should place more importance on the technical part unless you have a great personality, are attractive or have strong connections. Flunking early on a technical could easily get you axed if you don’t meat the aforementioned criteria

Don't worry/overthink too much! I think the hiring manager's response is pretty normal and her tone sounds neutral. Personally, I had experience being too nervous for one of my technical questions as well and asked for a few seconds to re-calibrate, and it certainly wasn't a deal-breaker because I managed to proceed to the second round of interviews, and I got the offer in the end!
