I mean if you want to work in this field you have to start from the bottom and whether or not you want to career change at 29 - that's a whole different discussion. There's definitely age discrimination if you're starting now and you'll have to think about if you're comfortable with taking orders from someone much younger than you
If they offered you an Analyst position then those are your qualifications. Bang out that 2 year stint and discuss it at the deal table later.
You said this is for a middle office role...that's not IBD though in the trad sense, right?
You have to start somewhere and it's important to remember that most of the money comes later into your career. Although technically illegal, age discrimination is very real. As long as you have a good story to tell, you should come through just fine. For context, I am an analyst in my late 20s and I know a few associates who are well into their 30s.
