anti cyclical jobs
just wondering what were the best jobs in terms of "survival chances" and in terms of flexibility when the cycle starts to go down. in other words, the jobs that have low betas to their linked asset class or that reuire skillsets that can be readily transferred to other "safe heavens".
in my VERY personal opinion:
the most "secure" and / or flexible: - risk management - DCM
in the middle: - wealth mng roles (but have no flexibility) - product managers (unless equity related) - trading
the worst: - equity research sell side - ECM / M&A / PE (unless it's distressed) - structurers (maybe some "niche" products get saved?) - sales / traders
what would you say?
