Any advice will be appreciated
Recently graduated from a non-target with a 3.4 GPA. I've done one internship at a tech company that I've been trying to make seem relevant to finance. Currently, I'm in Boston and have been networking to find an analyst/IB position. I have been getting no response from BB/HF (analyst positions) or IBs and have a few interviews for Ops positions coming up. Do I take an Op position and continue networking? Or should I wait it out and try and get into any shop as an analyst. I follow equities daily and have a strong interest in structured products (CLOs, MBS). Is it easier to get into an analyst role from Ops in equities or fixed income?
Also, I plan on taking the CFA level 1 in December.
If you were in my shoes what would you do? and why?
