Any tips for Highschool students interested in IB πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»πŸ§‘β€πŸ’»

I am in Highschool near the Atlanta area and I was wondering if there are any programs for aspiring Investment Banking Analysts. Is there any Undergrad or MBA programs that I should aim to attend.

What are some things that you wish you would have done differently in your career.

For those who are in the field would you reccomend it.

why do you come on here and start hating instead of helping people out? I don’t think even if that was my account it has anything to do with you.

First rule is to make an anonymous account on WSO so people cant see who you are. Second, is to never say aspiring IB Analyst (you only do this job for the money). Third, wait till youre a sophomore at a target college before even worrying if IB is right for you. Best of luck!

I always tell people starting out to think about having a career in IB to take a step back and ask yourself why you really wanna do it. Yes, the money is good but it cannot be the only reason to want to industry. As someone still in HS, you should lurk more as another poster said to really know what banking is like or maybe chat with friends/family that have some experience in IB.

Best you can do is enjoy your last couple summers if you really have set your eyes onto IB before the grind begins. So have fun and touch grass, there is still time before this should take up your day.

With all due respect, you're way too late buddy.  It's over, there's no way back for you. I know people who networked with MDs when they were in elementary school. This one guy I know at an MF even created a 3 statement model for an ice cream business when he was 8 years old. MD gave him an SA on the spot for his freshman year at college.

You should have started the process much earlier. The fact that you have no relevant work experience in industry is not good.

Things are looking pretty bleak for you as is. I would recommend starting your CFA Level 1 prep as soon as possible. That way, you may be able to follow Daddy's footsteps and be a retail banker in a tier 3 market (think Ohio, Arkansas, Chattanooga).
