Anybody hiring? Recently laid off

Hi, I was a math + econ double major in college and have an MSF degree from a (semi) target school. Worked in equity research and transaction advisory.

I used coding languages such as STATA and MATLAB during undergraduate studies, and the last few weeks I have been learning Python and SQL, especially Python. Now I'm comfortable playing with the usual data science packages like Numpy, Pandas, Seaborn, etc. Still learning it every day and building some small projects as practice.

Does anyone know any place that is currently hiring that needs someone with finance work experience and knows coding and math? For entry-level positions since I got laid-off before the 1-year mark (big disadvantage but that's reality).

I'd really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Not sure how many of these are affected by the hiring freeze (you can email us/HR to check) but we have the following open positions:

Perhaps not want you ideally want to do, but I can attest that the work these practices do is really really cool and most have an immediate start. If you're interested, let's find a way to not be anonymous so I can PM you and help as much as I can. Gotta help a brother out in this economy!

EDIT: Forgot to add the following.

Based on your profile, you could be good for economic and antitrust/competition consulting. We have UK-based openings for http://www.crai.com/careers/jobs/apply?gh_jid=1857387">Analysts and http://www.crai.com/careers/jobs/apply?gh_jid=1857403">Associates in that practice too. And yes, we sponsor visas.

Hi, this is OP. thanks for your comment. I actually tried ligitation/econ consulting when I was still in the MSF program...but no single econ consulting firm gave me a single interview (even after some networking). I'm brushing up on linear algebra, probability and statistics and calculus now. I will apply for the one in New York City, where I'm currently based.
