Anyone Feel Like They Are Too Thinned Out?

Have been recruiting for SA 2022 and as everyone has told me, I have built a network spanning many banks to have a shot everywhere. The problem with this though is that I haven't grounded a very firm (5+ chats) base at any firm and don't want this to come back and bite me. On the other hand, I have talked to about 2-3 people at every BB/remaning EBs. Posting because I'm getting somewhat anxious about getting first rounds when competing with others who have talked to more people. Hope this makes sense and someone can ease my nerves.

Honestly those are great stats but for some reason it hasn't worked well for me for so far. Don't want to sound arrogant but talked to 2-3 at PWP/Rothschild/Citi/Moelis and didn't get firsts at any of those places. I do realize the top banks are much more competitive but I have solid stats coming from a T20. Did you find it easier getting first rounds at boutiques or BBs?

As someone who just went through the SA 2022 recruiting season (signed an offer at EB), I think 2-3 is enough to get past the initial resume screen and actually have your resume looked at by the recruiting team.

By solid stats from a T20 school, do you mean 3.8+ from a semi-target with internships and networking with alumni? I would really focus on building strong relationships with some of the people you spoke to - reach back out and ask to "catch up" or do mock interviews

The EB's are all pretty much done, except I think Lazard and Rothschild are still recruiting. I would really focus on BB's and MM's - Jefferies and Gugg have not started either.  Good luck and PM if you have any other questions. Happy to help.

Definitely, thanks for the help and you're spot on- 3.9+ semi with IB internships.
