April and No Internship

Not me, but my gf is in a bit of a sticky situation. She's a junior at a target school, has a 3.85+ GPA, high SAT score, good activities/jobs, etc., but has yet to find an internship (she started applying in January). I'm trying to help her, but she's starting to lose hope. I helped her make a resume so that's not the reason why. She's had a few final round interviews, but nothing has converted to an offer.

Any advice? It doesn't even have to be IB, just something that pays well. She's applied to so many places and I think it's just ridiculous that someone in her position is getting rejected so much. Is the market seriously that brutal when you start looking for internships in the Spring? Is she screwed or is there potential to fix this situation?
