are all OCR ads for FT positions already posted on your school OCR site?
a few companies have begun posting OCR ads for FT positions for 2012 grads on my school's career site, but the activity has slowed to a halt as of late. do you think that most positions are already posted, or will postings start to ramp up again as the school year begins?
just not quite sure as to what the rhythm of FT recruiting would be.
This could be a tough year. A lot of banks hired their summer interns on the assumption of 3% economic growth, but now they are only expecting flat to 1%. Many are also implementing some layoffs. So banks are suddenly realizing that most of their hiring has been done already.
Have you considered working for Cargill instead? Great time to be in the world of agriculture. If people need to eat to work, the last folks to get laid off will be involved in the grain business.
haha given the way the economy is this may be where the big opportunities now lie.
A bunch of places posted their FT ads on August 15th at my school. I think usually a lot of them come in one batch on the same date and then no more will come for a while. So I wouldn't take it as an indication of subpar hiring but rather just the system by which most school's job boards function.
i think ~4 BBs + a lot more MM are already on OCR for me for FT IB
