Asking to grab drinks for networking

Wanted to see what people thought about asking to grab drinks when sending out networking emails. I'll be in the city for the summer and thought it might be a way to have a more casual networking meeting than a phone call or even coffee during the day. Someone recently asked me to grab a beer so I thought it might be a good idea.

Want to clarify that I'm a guy over 21 and would only ask guys about drinks. Would also word it in a way where a more traditional networking method is also given as an option so there's no need to accept drinks or decline overall. If they did, the most I'd drink would likely be a single beer to avoid getting drunk.
