Asking to Work Another Summer

I'm hoping to get some advice on my current situation. Signed a SA offer with a mid/low tier BB for 2022. The problem is that I want to take a year off from school next year to go backpacking in Europe with my grandfather. I was originally going to go after by freshman year but Covid canceled those plans. He's getting pretty old and there's a good chance he's going to have early stage Alzheimer's in the next 3-5 years. When I originally recruited I told the bank I was going to be a junior. Should I ask them if I can come back for another summer? I'm afraid they might say FT offer or nothing. Should I recruit for other SA offer as a backup and not mention anything?
