background check cleared?
how do I know whether my background check has cleared? since my background check started, I've been sent an email from the recruiting office telling me what things we need for the summer, so I'm seeing that as a good sign. but, on my background check, I stated that they couldn't contact a specific employer but I got a call from the background check company yesterday asking for that company's contact information. am I worrying too much?
you only hear if it does not clear. dont worry too much. unless you stated schools wrongly, grades or made up shit and are a criminal, you should be fine (though i cannot judge your situation since i dont know your specifics).

I had a different experience, I'm getting a background check and the compliance department asked for "clarification" on why I was laid off last month, I told them it was restructuring, and I haven't heard anything in a few days. I reached out to HR but they hadn't heard anything from compliance. Does this mean I passed? How long do these checks take to complete? For FT/BB in LA
They take an indeterminate amount of time. Sometimes your name is just towards the end. As long as everything checks out, you have nothing to worry about.
If your bank asks for an updated resume and specifically GPA during the onboarding process (long after you've gotten the offer), do background check companies compare your transcripts with this updated GPA or the one submitted during interviews?
