Background Check Question - Expecting one soon

Hey everyone,

I am expecting a background check soon and was wondering if I will be asked to provide a contact at past employers/internships or if the company will just call without asking for one? Just asking because I'd like to notify the person I put down if I am to do so...

Thanks!

They will ask you to put down all prior employers /intership details - but they probably wont call up the person that you have put down. They call up HR and just confirm the dates that you worked there and the position that you worked there as.

This is not true, for my case at least. I know for a fact that they have contacted 2 of my previous supervisors on top of HR. My supervisors emailed me about it.

I am new to this website. So take it easy on me. To your questions, they will call HR and check your job descriptions.

I do not know how to post my question on this website. So I am sorry to bring up my question to your topic. I just had a interview with a major big company for an internship.

I was working at 2 companies as an intern and going full time school. Just before 3 days from the interview, I quit one of my interns. In addition, I dropped taxation class 2 weeks before the interview and became a part-time student. Therefore, the resume was not updated as of current date.

The finance division interviwer asked me "Do you have two jobs?" "Yes" I answered. (not ture)

"Are you a full time student?" "Yes I am taking 12credits." (not ture)

Are they going to check with HR? Would it be a matter? I am so worried about this situation and cant even go to sleep well.

Thank you for your time guys. I really learned something from this interview..

As for your situation. You sure screwed the pooch by lying twice. I would call/email HR and inform that that you left one of you employers and tell them that you just wanted to let them know. Don't mention that you quit before the interview. Assuming this is for an internship, I would not mention dropping the class because you will hopefully be a full time student next semester.
